The unemployment of young people in SEE countries is an issue that unites government policy makers, educators and employers, so that appropriate solutions can be found which would help them secure a vibrant economic future for everyone.
The British Council organised the “SEE into the Future” international conference, which was a part of the “Engaging employers and reforming the vocational education and training,” in order to raise awareness and start a discussion for important issues related to education, the labour market and employment.
The conference, which took place 7-9th December 2015, was attended by partners from Great Britain and the countries in the region, representatives from the MoES, the British Council, the Economic Chamber for Tourism, schools, and employers from the tourism and services sector.
During the conference, important issues were discussed which were related to skills development, entrepreneurship, work-based learning and employment.
The key discussion point was the establishment, development and role of a Sectoral Commission for Tourism and Catering Services, as an important part of the dialogue in the process of implementing the National Qualifications Framework.
