The European Training Foundation (ETF) organized a two-day workshop on 30 September and 1 October 2015 in Podgorica, Montenegro, dedicated to the experiences of referencing national qualifications frameworks to the EQF. The aim of the workshop was to promote mutual learning and exchange of experiences between the countries covered by the EU enlargement. Also, the workshop helped prepare the countries from the region for their upcoming inclusion as full members of the EQF Advisory Group of the European Commission. The workshop was attended by representatives of relevant ministries and institutions that have an important role in the development of qualifications in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro, as well as experts from the ETF, Belgium, Croatia and Slovenia
The host of the workshop was the Minister of Education of Montenegro. The workshop was supported by the Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the European Commission. Main topics of the workshop were:
- exchange of experience and discussion of best practices from Referencing of national qualifications frameworks to the EQF
- Support for new countries that will join the EQF community for successful involvement in the EQF Advisory Group, referencing their qualifications frameworks to the EQF and to the self-certification to Qualifications Framework of the European Higher Education Area (QF-EHEA)
- Emphasizing experiences and lessons learned that can encourage the work on referencing and implementation of national qualifications frameworks
- Promotion of further dialogue and exchange of experiences of mutual interest, and determining areas for further regional cooperation.
