Exchanging experiences in the process of referencing national qualifications framework with the European Qualifications Framework


On 2nd and 3rd June 2016 in Neum, Macedonian was invited to participate in an event to exchange experiences about the process of referencing national qualifications frameworks to the European qualifications framework. The event was organised by the European Training Foundation (ETF) and the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina and it brought together representatives of the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, employers and representatives of several other countries.

On behalf of the Ministry of Education and Science, a presentation was delivered by Borcho Aleksov, Assistant Head of Higher Education and a member of the Advisory Group of the European Qualifications Framework, which addressed the process of referencing, acquired experiences and tips for a more successful referencing process of the National qualifications framework in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina expressed great interest in the Macedonian experience in referencing the Macedonian Qualifications Framework with the European one, especially regarding the organization and structure of the report, the involvement of partners and the benefits from public debates and the importance of the qualification framework for the development of the labor marker and its benefits for citizens.

The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Macedonia thanked the European Training Foundation (ETF) and the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the honor and the opportunity to present the Macedonian Qualifications Framework before the representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the country’s experiences in the process of referencing. The Ministry also expressed readiness for further support Bosnia and Herzegovina in this process.
